December 2011: West Horsley byways – a Surrey success!

South London and Surrey TRF have recently led a very successful fight against two proposed Traffic Regulation Orders in West Horsley, Guildford.  It all started back in summer 2010 with a campaign being driven by a local Parish Councillor.  Despite council officials recommending TROs were not made, Councillors voted on a number of occasions to make the TROs.  South London and Surrey TRF campaigned hard, arguing that the byways should not be closed to motorcycles and that alternative solutions should be tried.  We achieved over 1000 letters of objection.  This month the final decision was taken not to proceed with the TROs.
